Now that you have your email address we move on to websites. As with any business there are assets and liabilities. Cost is one thing that you don't need. Since there are so many hosts that provide for Free Websites, why not take advantage. Think of your website as a shop in a mall. One mall offers no rental costs and another demands rental. Which would you choose? It would also be logical for you to try and open up more shops at the No-Rental Mall wouldn't it? What I'm trying to say is, that you could easily operate a few good websites with little or no overheads at the same time!
I have almost wasted $70 by buying a "domain" thinking that free website hosts might make my address too long for people to remember or stuff like that. Hey you found my website didn't you?!?!
Below I've listed out a few that provide free websites. All you have to do is click on the ones that you think you'd like your website to be hosted in and when your done just close the browser page. If you already have a website make sure that the website allows commercial use some are entirely for personal or family use only.
I have narrowed down to a couple of (what I believe are good hosts) hosts that provide free websites
I like the easy of use of this host and its kind of nice that they make it to look like an actual city (hence the name...) It provides up to 20 megs space. Which would be quite adequate unless you have sounds, pictures, graphics or frames (have I told you I don't like those things?) A banner is required on the top of each page but its not one of those 'Pop-out' ones that you have to close and sometimes you get shut out. An email address is provided once you have moved into the 'city' but they will need to send you some kind of confirmation (Lucky you got a free email in part a huh!) To design the website you could use their easy to use 'software' or design it in html format or even design it at how and transfer the file via FTP.
No limits as to space but there are no email or FTP functions.
Provides up to 11 megs of space. Has a 'pop up' window on every single page. No email or FTP functions.
Has up to 5 megs space. There is also a 'Pop up' window on the first page.
I know four hosts seems few but these are the ones I've gone and tried out myself. All you'll need is one to start the ball rolling with. There are others like
When I have the time I'll visit them and find out more info.
